Chail Wildlife Sanctuary covers an area of around 110 km² (10,854 ha). It is located in the Solan and Shimla districts of Himachal Pradesh. It was initially a private game reserve for the Maharaja of Patiala but was designated a protected area in 1976. This sanctuary is only 3 km from Chail town.
